Monkeying around with progress

I finally cast on the second Monkey sock!  Finally.  On the first.  Today is the 5th, and I'm half done with the foot portion.  I turned the heel last night, and I can't wait to be able to wear an entire pair of hand knitted socks for the first time!

I've been walking around in one sock all day to compell myself to finish the second.  I think it's working!

Great. Just great.

If you're wondering how my day is going...

This, is how my day is going, now.  The part you plug the cord into just disappeared.  After some digging with some dollar store screwdrivers we always laugh at, I got it up to the opening.  Then I had to lift the top of my laptop up and stick the screwdrivers in to hold it in place, then I finally got it plugged in just before it died.  A WEEK before I replace it.  Best part?  It's only 18 months old!

I will never buy a toshiba again.  I hate this thing.  But...laptop...i love you.  Please survive till I get my money to replace you.  Please?

In the works...

I'm currently working on a few things.

First, there's Sophie.  Sophie is a knitted bunny that will go in Parker's Easter basket.  I have left to finish, one arm (3/4 done) and two ears.  Then she'll be done!  I'm knitting this in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.

Second, there's Ishbel.  Ishbel is a triangular shawl and I am finished with the stockinette portion, but I knitted one extra repeat (there should be 33, I knitted 34) so now I have to tink back one knit row and one purl row.  Then I'll be ready to get onto the lace charts!  I'm knitting this in Noro Kureyon Sock.

Then, we have the Central Park Hoodie.  I have finished the front pieces and the back, seamed them together, and the hood is half finished.  I still need to finish the hood, do two arms, and then do the edging along the front.  This is knit in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes.

Then there's the Effortless Cardigan.  I'm not very far into this, because I don't think the finished object will be what I want it to be if I continue with this yarn.  It's also in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes and while I love it for the CPH, it's not right for this project.  This is getting frogged.  I will redo it in Madelinetosh Tosh DK as the pattern suggests.

Finally, there's the Monkey socks.  I finished one, and have yet to cast on for the second.  I'll be starting that soon.  They are in Knit Picks Stroll Hand Painted.  It reminds me of neopolitain ice cream.

Infusion of cheek pinching cuteness

While this blog has a lot of cuteness a la my lovely hat and mittens, it is missing the kind of cuteness that makes a girl want to pinch cheeks.  So, I introduce to you, my lovely son, Parker.

and finally, our little family <3

Wurm my head, please.

For a knitter, I have a seriously sad amount of winter accessories.  Until a week ago, I had none in fact.  I now have mittens, thanks to my adorable owls.  So, I needed a hat.

In comes Wurm.  Awesome, right?  It's so soft, and warm, and GREEN!  I love green.
